BUT the data collection makes me very cautions:
"If you visit our site to read or download information on our pages, we collect and store only the following information about you:
+ The name of the domain from which you access the Internet
+ The date and time you access our site
+ The Internet address of the website you used to link directly to our site.
+ Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website.
+ Google's use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet."
Edit: Disregard my concerns. Developers reply explains it all. I was wrong. (Changed rating to 5 stars)

posted 7 years agoHi there,
We take the privacy of our users very seriously. And the Turn Off the Lights Firefox extension does not collect anything from you. Because there is no Google Analytic script inside the extension file.
What you said is for the www.turnoffthelights.com website (as it stated on the privacy page -> topic "website").
This analytic data is anonymously collected with the Google Analytics script, to improve the website and the web page performance (find a web page that is loading slow). Furthermore, we know when there is a big group of visitors is reading our website (for an example in the morning). And what web browser do our visitors use to see our website. It is the same here for Mozilla Firefox addons gallery, they use also the Google Analytics script.
If you need any help or have feedback for us. Don't hesitate to contact us on the official support form:

- Rated 4 out of 5by kjamcu, 8 months agoIt works almost as intended. But Firefox frequently stops working when customizing my settings. Task Manager also shows increased memory usage almost to 100%, I just don't understand how this is so demanding?

posted 8 months agoHi there,
Thank you for using the Turn Off the Lights Firefox extension.
And for your 4-star rating.
Did you enable a certain feature? The Firefox extension is using a service worker, and it is manifest v3. So it uses less memory and is better in performance.
