Could you specify which platform and version of Firefox you're having issues with? We keep the extension installed on three different versions of Firefox (stable, ESR, nightly) and test it regularly. A major update was also released recently—please give it a try.

Extensions don't have an authority to enforce itself on users systems.
Use system/browser-wide DNS like 1.1.1.3 (ask google / chatgpt) in combination with the extension to get the best experience possible. Not deleting the extension per impulse might also be considered as a part of discipline.
