- Rated 1 out of 5by マンサー, a year agoCould have warned you'd put a giant, 100% opaque qrcode watermark using 1/4 of the screen with it's removal behind a paywall BEFORE users hit the "Add to Firefox" button and try out by themselves, but oh well, gotta increase that sweet number of downloads button at any cost, am I right?
Was looking for a quick built-in solution to replace JDownloader. Lucky I tested it before downloading a video that was about to be removed 1 hour after, and had time to remove this garbage and have the original video in my hands before that happen. The search for a built-in solution continues...
The concept of ransomware:
A type of malicious software that encrypts a victim's files or locks them behind their system, making it unusable until a ransom is paid to the attacker. If it's the only copy available, the victim has no choice but to pay.
What this addon does:
Downloads a video and put a giant qrcode at the bottom-left corner occupying 1/4 of it. The qrcode leads to a page you have to pay to have it removed. If this is the only copy left, you have no options but to pay.
So, not only does this addon walks an uncanny blurry line on an actual crime, firefox endorses it.
"Firefox only recommends add-ons that meet our standards for security and performance." OHOHOH is that so?? Thank god I only use hardened forks. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19054130, a year agoWas good. Now added big QR-code almost on 1/4 screen.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19053507, a year agoI was running Video Downloadhelper (VDH) on my old Windows 10 laptop as a Firefox extension (the laptop started out with Windows 7). I upgraded to a new Windows 11 laptop and I am UNABLE to download VDH on my new laptop as I cannot locate an INSTALL button and I cannot find any sort of contact info. I am disappointed!!
