PRIVACY POLICY – InfraLens
Effective Date: May 2026
InfraLens is a privacy-focused Firefox browser extension developed by NB InfoTech for analyzing website security headers, HTTPS configuration, infrastructure details, and webpage security posture in a read-only manner.
User privacy, transparency, and minimal permission usage are core principles of InfraLens.
- Information Collection
InfraLens does not collect, store, transmit, process, sell, rent, or share any personal or sensitive user data.
The extension does NOT collect:
• Personally identifiable information (PII)
• Browsing history
• Website form data
• Authentication credentials
• Financial or payment information
• Health information
• Location information
• Communications or messages
• Keystrokes or typing activity
• Mouse movements or clicks
• User account data
• Analytics or telemetry data
- How InfraLens Works
InfraLens performs local, read-only security analysis of the currently active webpage directly within the Firefox browser.
The extension analyzes security and infrastructure-related information such as:
• HTTPS / HTTP protocol usage
• HTTP security headers
• Content Security Policy (CSP)
• HSTS configuration
• X-Frame-Options
• Referrer-Policy
• Permissions-Policy
• Redirect chains
• Mixed content detection
• Cookie security attributes
• DNS-based infrastructure information
• CDN and CMS indicators
• TLS certificate issuer information
• Website technology indicators
All analysis occurs locally inside the user’s browser session.
InfraLens does not send webpage content, browsing activity, or scan results to any external server.
- Data Storage
InfraLens stores only optional extension preferences locally using Firefox browser extension storage APIs.
Examples include:
• Enabled or disabled popup sections
• User interface preferences
• Feature configuration settings
No browsing data or website analysis results are permanently stored.
- Data Sharing and Third Parties
InfraLens does not:
• Share user data with third parties
• Use advertising networks
• Include tracking technologies
• Use analytics platforms
• Sell user data
• Transfer browsing information externally
The extension operates independently without requiring backend cloud infrastructure.
- Browser Permissions Usage
InfraLens requests only the permissions necessary to provide webpage security analysis functionality.
activeTab
Used to inspect the currently active webpage only after user interaction with the extension.
webRequest
Used in a read-only manner to inspect HTTP response headers, redirects, and request metadata required for security analysis.
storage
Used only for saving local extension preferences and feature settings.
dns
Used to perform DNS lookups for the currently active domain to provide infrastructure visibility features.
These permissions are used solely for the security inspection functionality of InfraLens.
- External Security Services
InfraLens may provide optional quick-access links to external security analysis services such as:
• SecurityHeaders
• SSL Labs
• VirusTotal
• Sucuri SiteCheck
These services are opened only when the user manually chooses to access them.
InfraLens does not automatically transmit browsing data to these services.
- TLS and Security Restrictions
InfraLens respects Firefox browser security restrictions and sandboxing policies.
The extension does not attempt to bypass browser security protections or access restricted encrypted communication data.
- Security and Privacy Design Principles
InfraLens is designed with a security-first and privacy-focused approach:
• Read-only architecture
• No remote code execution
• No hidden background tracking
• No advertisements
• No telemetry collection
• No user profiling
• No data monetization
• Minimal permission usage
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated periodically to reflect extension improvements, feature updates, or regulatory requirements.
