This extension is simply amazing. I wish there was a way to make bulk download of the whole profile gallery, but I can live with one-click download of individual images/groups of images. Thank you for providing this extension to the data hoarder nation.

Love this extension... been using it for a couple of years, but the past few days it is only working part of the time... like less then 25% of the time. Not sure if Instagram has made some changes on their back end causing it to not work.

Post Detail Download Failed!

Tested on Firefox 144.0.2 (64-bit).

Very useful add-on, works reliably and integrates nicely into Instagram’s UI.

However, I’d like to request a few improvements that would make it much more efficient for power users.

1. Original filename option
In Settings → Filename Pattern, please add a variable that lets the saved file use the original CDN filename from Instagram.
For example, in Kendall Jenner’s latest birthday photo post, the actual image file on the server has a name similar to
573111393_18971195284044931_2042470374313188073_n.jpg
It would be very useful if the add-on could preserve that original name when saving, instead of generating a random or simplified one.
This helps maintain proper archiving and reference of source material.

2. Automatic user subfolders
It would be great if the extension could automatically create folders based on the account name, for example:
C:\Users\User\Downloads\Downloader for Instagram by onlinetoolset\kendalljenner\
That would keep downloads neatly organized without the browser asking for a save path every time.

3. Bulk download without repeated "Save as..." prompts
When downloading multiple images, Firefox currently opens a save dialog for each one.
Could the extension handle multi-image posts in a single batch, or reuse the same chosen directory automatically?
This would save a lot of clicks and time when archiving large posts.

Overall the extension works well. These small quality-of-life improvements would make it perfect for frequent use. Thank you!

Helpful to an extent, but on Android if there's a post with multiple images, it seems to choose one to download at random rather than the one currently being viewed.

Works alright. Used to be able to download thumbnails for videos, but the download icon for this doesn't appear anymore

Just awesome! :) using it since a year or so, had no problems, yet. thanks for this neat addon!

Works well, no major issues so far but some minor ones.

I don't always like that it will automatically try to download everything on a post that contains multiple images. I sometimes just want to download 1 or 2 specific images from 4-5 in a post but can't just select those.
